It is “at Your Word” that seraphs fly and cherubs bow! Your Angels excel, listening to the voice of Your Word.

“And Simon answering said to him, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at your word I will let down the net,”” Luke 5:5 emphasis added. She poured out her all on her King and left carrying so much more than his own disciples for she carried his very scent. She was reckless in her passion to honor Jesus. Letting down her hair was against the custom of the day. Looking upon her with such a passionate fire within his eyes! It did not matter what they said or how they tried to condemn her, all that mattered was the One who was sitting before her. Mary had that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pay tribute to The LORD she loved, and she pulled out all the stops. Live a life that looks different from the world around you. And then the same sweet perfume that was on Him was on her too. With no towel at hand, Mary used her own hair to wipe the oil from Jesus’ feet. And immediately the aroma of the scented oil permeated the entire house.īut she didn’t stop there.

She broke her expensive jar of oil and poured it on Jesus. Knowing He was about to die, she wanted to honor Him.Įxpense was no object for her. Her drastic gesture was simply a natural overflow of the deep love she had in her heart for Jesus. To add insult to injury, Mary didn’t consult any of the men about what she was going to do. To the disciples she simply looked like a fool.
